Description: Somerville School, Greater NOIDA has always believed in commending the students to inspire them to scale greater heights. A felicitation ceremony was held on 7th July 2018, to honour the toppers of Class X and XII in CBSE Examinations. This year the students of Somerville School Greater NOIDA have come out with a stellar performance in the CBSE Class XII examination. Mallika Bandyopadhyay of the Humanities Streams cored 99.4 percent marks and is the topper of the school. She has scored a perfect 100 in English, Political Science and Economics. Abhas Gahlot of the Science Stream has bagged the second position by securing 97.8%, while Raj Lakshmi and Ruby Lovina Ekka of the Humanities Stream scored 97.4% to share the third position. The second and third position in the Science Stream have been secured by Aman Mishra who scored 95.8% and Soumya Ranjan Sahu with 95.6% respectively. The first position in the Commerce Stream has been bagged by Charu Chauhan with 91% while the second and third position has been secured by Shruti Kashyap with 89% and Shaina Jain with 88.8% respectively. The third position in the Humanities stream has been secured by Atoshi Bhattacharya who scored 95.8%. It was a proud moment for the school as all 124 students who appeared for the examination have secured above 60%. Tisha Goel of Class X scored 97.8% to secure the first position, Kiran Preet Kaur scored 96.6% to secure the second position, she also won the Muivah Award which is awarded to the best all-rounder in Class X while Ramya Rana scored 95% to secure the third position. The ceremony began with a hymn by the Western Music Choir to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. Thereafter Principal Dr. Mary Thomas presented the students with mementos and certificates for their meritorious performance. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Ma’am expressed her delight at the success of the students and urged them to always remember the values they have imbibed at Somerville which will help them etch a life embellished with success and advised them to spread peace and harmony wherever they go. Vice Principal, Ms. Monisha Claudius, delivered the vote of thanks. She stressed on the importance of hopes and aspirations and how they are the stepping stones on the path to success.
