Description: Somerville School, Greater NOIDA observed ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel who was a prominent Indian statesman and leader. He was one of the founding fathers of Modern India. He is referred to as ‘The Iron Man’ of India for his contribution in unifying the Indian states after Independence.
A special assembly was organised in the school premises to pay tribute to the great man. Students from Classes VI-XII took an oath and pledged to be committed to the growth of the nation and help in the development of the country. They also participated in the ‘Run for Unity’ which was flagged off by Principal, Dr. Mary Thomas. Ma’am encouraged the students to be united and faithful to their country. The day ended with an Essay Writing and Poster Making Competition on the topic ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
