Description: Pink colour day was celebrated on 4th May 2018 with zeal and zest by class KG-A. Mrs. Shefali Egbert, Headmistress, Somerville School graced the occasion with her presence. The students welcomed the Headmistress with a pink butterfly and a rose flower pin-up. The celebration began with a soulful prayer. The class sang the hymn “God’s love is so wonderful”. The children stated facts about Pink fruits and flowers. They spoke about the Pink flamingos which get their colour from the bacteria in water; Pink gemstones called Rhodochrosite; Pink Japanese trees and the Pink Amazon river dolphin. They also spoke about the pink wonders of the world like – Petra, the pink city; Pink sand beach on Harbour Island; Lake Hilliary in Western Australia. Pink is not just a colour, it’s an attitude and is most often associated with charm, politeness, tenderness, sweetness. It was an educative session for everyone. Headmistress, Mrs. Shefali Egbert delivered the vote of thanks.
