Workshops
  Various workshops are conducted for the students in order to facilitate learning and to give them a platform to interact with the resource persons and amongst themselves.

Many seminars and workshops are organized which provide the teachers the right platform to enhance their interpersonal skills and enable them to devise new, more creative and simpler solutions to the problems associated with the teaching learning process.

Workshop on Fashion Designing

on Character Cultivation
 

 
 
  • Workshop on Character Cultivation was conducted for Classes IX & X by Mr. Samuel Selvamoni, City Coordinator for Delhi of Character Solutions International.


  • Our Principal Dr. Mary Thomas took a workshop for students of Classes IX & X on CCE – Scheme and the significance of Co-Scholastic areas and Academic achievements in the holistic development of a student.


  • A workshop on SUPW was conducted by Mrs. Elizabeth Kuruvilla, Assistant Professor, NIFT, Hyderabad, for the students of Classes VIII to XII in the month of November. Various techniques like Scoring paper, Weaving, Quilling, Rolling were taught. Students made pillow boxes using paper scoring, rolled rose, curved flower, basket weaving etc with the techniques taught.


  • To make the students aware about a future in Fashion Designing and take it up as a full time profession, a workshop on Fashion Designing was conducted by Ms Marilyn Thomas, Asst. Designer to Manish Arora. This helped the students not only to know about Fashion Designing but other professions and fields related to fashion designing.

  • A Workshop for Class XI was conducted by Jagriti Vision based in Greater NOIDA to help the students get an insight into the future career opportunities in their field, the different courses offered and the various institutes and colleges offering the programs.


 
  WORKSHOPS CONDUCTED FOR TEACHERS  
     
 
  • CCE is the new educational pattern introduced by the CBSE. In order to familiarize the teachers with the new pattern of education as per the CCE system, a workshop on Evaluation Scheme of CCE was conducted by Our Principal, Dr. Mary Thomas.


  • A Workshop on Weaving and Macrame was conducted by the Principal Dr. Mary Thomas in the month of March for honing their skills in SUPW.


  • A unique workshop on Life Skills, was conducted by the Promise Foundation headed by Mr. Gulraj Singh and his team on 23rd July 2011 for the Teaching Staff of Somerville School, Greater NOIDA. It was indeed an eye opener for all those who attended it. The workshop focused on common day to day problems experienced in every other home.


  • Mrs. Elizabeth Kuruvilla, Assistant Professor, NIFT, Hyderabad, conducted a workshop on SUPW for the teachers in the month of November. Various techniques like Scoring paper, Weaving, Quilling, Rolling were taught.


  • Workshop on SMART CLASS by EDUCOMP was conducted by Experts from EDUCOMP, Delhi from 7th to 9th May 2012.


  • Ms. Shefali Egbert , Ms. Babita Bahl & Ms. Libina Alex attended workshop on PEC(Physical Education Cards) at SOMERVILLE SCHOOL, VASUNDHRA conducted by Ms. Shivon Mark Anthony in the month of July.


  • Primary Teachers attended workshop on PEC (Physical Education cards) at Somerville School, Greater NOIDA conducted by Ms. Shefali Egbert , Ms. Babita Bahl & Ms. Libina Alex.

WORKSHOPS CONDUCTED FOR PARENTS
     
 
 
  • Workshop on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation was organized and conducted for the parents of the students of Classes IX & X on 5th May 2012. The Class Teachers conducted the workshop explaining to the parents the new system of teaching and evaluation according to the CCE pattern laid down by the CBSE.


  • A unique workshop on ‘Personality Development of Children’, was conducted by the Promise Foundation on 23rd July 2011 for the parents of Somerville School, Greater NOIDA. It was indeed an eye opener for all those who attended it. The workshop focused on common day to day problems experienced in every other home.
