Somerville School, Greater NOIDA boasts of a well planned and sprawling garden. The school campus is bordered with trees of various varieties. These trees provide shade and a healthy environment for the students. The garden has a well laid out lawn comprising ornamental flowers and plants. Some of the plants are quite rare and not easily found in Northern India. In the winter season the garden is resplendent in a riot of colours, which is a feast for the eyes.

Every year during the ‘Pushputsav’ the entries by Somerville School, Greater NOIDA are awarded several prizes by the Greater NOIDA Authority for their excellent exhibits in various categories.

There are also areas allotted for Vegetable Garden and a Herb Garden.

In the vegetable garden all the seasonal vegetables are grown. The students are given first hand knowledge about growing and nurturing vegetables.

Herbal gardening is a small but a very important activity in our school. We have made students grow plants that have some important medicinal value like – Camphor, Tulsi, Aloe vera, Stevia etc. Some unique plants are also grown to teach children how to prepare herbal colours.

This small effort will definitely help the students to become eco friendly. They not only learn the use of these herbs themselves but also help to further convey it to their juniors.
